Managed Application Security and Detection

We run application security for you: detection across code, dependencies, packages and APIs, triaged by our engineers, with fixes your team approves.

For: Engineering teams without a dedicated AppSec engineer.

Scope: This covers what your engineers build and ship. It is not an IT SOC, endpoint MDR or 24/7 monitoring of your network and devices.

Every engagement is quoted after a scoping call, based on what we would actually test. How engagements are priced

What's included

  • Continuous detection across repositories, dependencies and pipelines
  • Malicious and typosquatted packages blocked at install time
  • API security policy kept in step with your OpenAPI spec
  • Triage by our engineers, with fixes as pull requests
  • Monthly report and audit evidence for SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS and DORA

Who is managed AppSec for?

Managed AppSec is for engineering teams that ship software without a dedicated application security engineer. Most of these teams can run a scanner. What they lack is someone who reads its output every week, decides what is exploitable and gets the fixes merged.

If your scanner backlog keeps growing and nobody owns it, this engagement takes it over.

How does the engagement run?

It runs in 5 steps, each agreed with you before it starts.

  1. 01

    Onboarding

We connect our tools to your repositories, package installs, CI and API gateway, and agree with you which severities need your attention and who approves fixes.

  2. 02

    Continuous detection

Scans of code, dependencies, infrastructure as code and secrets run on a schedule, whether or not anyone opens a pull request. Malicious and typosquatted packages are blocked when someone tries to install them.

  3. 03

    Triage

A Cyphlon engineer reviews each finding and decides whether it is real, whether it is noise and how urgent it is.

  4. 04

    Fixes

Where the fix is clear, it arrives as a pull request. Nothing merges until one of your engineers approves it.

  5. 05

    Monthly reporting

Each month you get a report, along with the evidence auditors ask for under frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS and DORA.

What do you receive?

  • Findings triaged by an engineer, not a raw scanner export
  • Fix pull requests for your team to approve
  • Install-time blocking of malicious and typosquatted packages
  • An API security policy that follows your OpenAPI spec
  • A monthly report and audit evidence

What do we need from you?

  • Access to your repositories and CI pipelines
  • Package installs and CI routed through Chainsaw
  • Your OpenAPI specs, for the API security policy
  • A named approver for fix pull requests, and the severity thresholds you want

Questions

Is this a SOC or MDR service?

No. It covers what your engineers build and ship: code, dependencies, packages, pipelines and APIs. It is not an IT SOC, endpoint MDR or 24/7 monitoring of your network and devices.

Can a fix reach production without our approval?

No. Every fix is a pull request, and your engineers decide whether it merges.

An introductory call with our engineers about any engagement: a pentest, continuous testing, managed AppSec, security engineering, agentic AI security or a fractional CISO. We'll ask about your stack, your deadlines and what your customers or auditors expect, and tell you plainly if we're not the right fit.
